Question: How
can I have a relationship with God?
Answer: I must believe that God
loves me and created me to have a personal relationship with Him.
The
Bible tells me:
- He created me.
Psalm 139:13-14
- He loves me.
John 3:16
- He wants me to know Him.
John 17:3
- He wants me to have an abundant
life. John 10:10

Question: If
that is the case, then why don't many people have a personal relationship with
God?
Answer: Because sin separates man from God.
The Bible
tells me:
- All of us are sinners.
Romans 3:23
- When we sin, we are cut off from
God. Isaiah 59:2; Romans
6:23
- Sin is not doing what we know we
should do. James
4:17

Question: How
can I fix this separation between God and me?
Answer: Jesus Christ
is the only bridge there is between God and me.
The Bible tells me:
- Jesus is the only way.
John 14:6; Acts 4:12
- He had to die to make the way.
1 Peter 3:18
- He died for us. Romans 5:8
- He proved He was the way by
coming back to life. 1 Corinthians
15:3-6

Question: How do
I cross this bridge?
Answer: I must personally trust Jesus Christ as
my Lord and Savior.
The Bible tells me:
- I must trust Jesus.
Ephesians 2:8-9
- I must become willing to turn
away from my sin and turn to God. Acts
3:19
- I must receive Christ through
faith. Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12;
Revelation 3:20

Question: How do
I receive Jesus?
Answer: The Bible tells me I must become willing
to:
- Turn to God, and away from my
old way of living. Acts 3:19; Romans
10:13
- Ask Christ to come into my life.
Revelation 3:20
- Trust God to forgive my sins.
Acts 2:38; 1 John
1:9
- Be willing to let God direct my
life. John 15:4-6; Galatians
2:20

Question: I am willing -
now what?
Answer: I need to pray:
Dear God, I know I am a sinner and separated from You. Thank
You for sending Jesus to die for me. Please forgive my sins. I ask that Jesus
come into my life to help me change my old habits and to live my life for You.
I thank You for giving me eternal life. I pray all these things in the name of
Jesus Christ. Amen. |

Question: What
now?
Answer: I am now a child of God.
The Bible tells
me:
- He will never leave me.
Hebrews 13:5
- All my sins are forgiven.
Colossians 2:13-14
- I will be with Him forever.
1 John 5:13
- The Holy Spirit lives in me and
helps me. Galatians
5:25
- I am to continue to grow strong
& vigorous. Colossians
2:6-7

Question: How
secure is this new relationship?
Answer: The Bible tells me it is
forever!
- Nothing can separate me from the
love of God. Romans
8:38-39
- No one can cause me to lose this
relationship. Isaiah 43:13; John
10:29
- There is nowhere I can go to get
away from God. Psalm
139:1-12
- No one will snatch me out of
God's hand. John
10:29

Question: Is There Anything Else I Need To
Do?
Answer: Begin taking steps to grow as a
Christian.
- Get a Bible.
- Begin studying the Bible and
spend time each day praying and praising God.** God will begin to direct your
life in all things.
Study:

Prayer:
Philippians 4:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18;
James 5:16
God's Guidance:
Psalm 32:8; Psalm 119:105; John

- As soon as it is practical, seek
to be baptized. Matthew 28:19; Mark

- When you fail in your efforts to
do what God wants, confess and ask for God's forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 Remember that God will never leave you
Hebrews 13:5 and will help you
resist when you are tempted to do wrong. 1
Corinthians 10:13
